Meet some of our amazing employees 👋🏼

  • It was my interest in cars that first made me apply for this job. I had seen the test cars out on the roads and was curious about what really goes on behind the gates. Getting an inside look at the technical development—and even being part of that work—is really rewarding. But honestly, I’d say this job is just as suitable for someone who simply enjoys driving. How much you choose to get involved is really up to you. As long as you like driving and are open to learning new things, you’ll enjoy the work. For someone like me, who’s passionate about technology, it’s a fascinating industry. There’s always something new to discover about the latest innovations, every single day if you want it—and that’s something I find truly rewarding.

  • I started my career at Tjintokk as a car tester in various departments, both with heavy vehicles and with passenger cars. Eventually I slipped into Trackteam and have been here for 6 seasons. In our area, we do track maintenance and workshop work. I work on the lake as a track worker and there are a total of 4 of us per shift led by a group leader. In calm weather, the work flows. Challenges can arise when the weather gets rougher and then we can have to prioritize, something we have our routines for. Colleagues that I appreciate are those who have a high work ethic and who are willing to learn. You should be humble and open to learning, with the right attitude anyone can handle this job. What I appreciate most about coming to this job is the nice colleagues. We have a good atmosphere here and that's what makes you feel comfortable.

  • ’ve worked here for one season, and the thing I’ve come to appreciate the most is getting the chance to work around so many people. Honestly, that wasn’t always something I felt comfortable with, but I’ve learned that it actually works out great—mainly because everyone here is so friendly and kind. In Housekeeping we’ve got different sub-departments, and my role is out in the workshops at the various garages on Tjintokk’s site. At first, it was a bit of a challenge—there’s a lot of moving around and walking in this job. I even had sore feet the first few days! But once I got used to it, it turned out fine. One of the best parts is how well you get to know your closest colleagues, and that makes the work run smoothly. For example, my coworker usually takes care of the kitchens while I handle the toilets, and then we team up on the offices. I really enjoy working with people you can laugh and have fun with, while also knowing you can trust them to do their job just as well as you do yours. Another thing I’ve come to like is that you spend time outside as you move between the garages. It might sound like a small detail, but it makes such a difference compared to being indoors all day long.

  • “I studied a two-year construction program in high school and then worked in both construction and industry – everything from laying floors and furniture carpentry to jobs at sawmills and block construction. My path to Tjintokk started back in 2008 when I first trained in and later got the chance to work as a test driver in Sorsele. I really enjoyed that, but I wanted a permanent position. When a full-time role opened up in maintenance, I took the opportunity – and got the job. The best thing about this job is the variety. No day is ever the same. One day it might be construction work, the next day maintenance of the site or the hotel. You need to be a bit of a jack-of-all-trades, but the most important thing is to be curious, not afraid to try new things, and willing to learn from more experienced colleagues. You’re always developing here. I really enjoy working at Tjintokk – both the workplace itself and the team. The strong sense of togetherness we have makes all the difference.”

  • Tjintokk is part of Sami mythology and folklore. In Sami tradition and culture, Tjintokk is a spirit or being that is considered to be connected to winter and cold. Tjintokk is said to be a spirit or supernatural being that moves through the forests and mountains during the dark and cold season. Tjintokk is often described as a creature with animalistic features, like a hybrid between a reindeer and a bird. It is said to have large horns and wings and to be endowed with magical powers. The creature is said to be connected to the cold and can cause storms and cold by blowing on its horns. Stories about Tjintokk are sometimes used to explain extreme weather conditions or provide an explanation for unexpected events in nature during the winter months.
